Sixt will be sixt - we took the best insurance option available when booking online (minimum excess CDW) specifically not to have to deal with this but of course were faced with the classic 'you actually haven't purchased the tire and windshield protection'. 'Everyone blames us for it' - well yeah because there's literally no option for it when booking online. Anyway, we didn't pay the additional ~10€/ day for it and were fine. If you did, the amount reserved on your card would be 300€ instead of the standard 1200€ for the Fiat 500 range. The full amount was back on the card two weeks after dropping the car off. The staff were overall nice and friendly, had some local sightseeing and food suggestions and most importantly didn't seem very strict about checking the vehicle's condition after the rental was finished.
