I rented a car for a long weekend in March from the Dublin city centre branch of Sixt. I was given a practically new car (Renault Clio registered in 2021) that was a higher category than what I originally booked. I was given the car with a full tank (as expected) and spotless inside. As I chose to return the car on a Sunday after-hours, I was given the option to return it the next (Monday) morning before opening hours for free, if desired.
I initially reserved the car online with my debit card, however upon collection I had to use my credit card to pay the excess and fuel deposit, unless I paid the daily extra rate for a zero excess cover. This is a fairly standard procedure for renting a car, from my experience. The only downside from my experience is that the deposit remained blocked from my credit card for a few weeks after the booking, which was much later than the 10 working days I was told to expect. Despite this, I was impressed by the prompt and helpful customer service, whom answered my queries over email.
Overall, I had a great experience with Sixt and will definitely be returning to the company in the future. In fact, I have booked another car trip with Sixt for the next month.
