Possibly one of the best ways to trek through Israel is to start your journey in Eilat. The city is uncharacteristically non Israeli in that tourism and holiday culture dominate and there are less natives than vacationers to be seen. Despite not having holy sites and relics, the city is a lovely place for fun in the sun making a true resort getaway. Water sports, beaches, nightlife, and nature prevail in Eilat where the tourists will have to invest several action packed days to take in all that the city proffers. A particular favorite attraction is the Coral Beach Nature Reserve. Beyond this paradise found in the southern tip of Israel, Jerusalem or Tel Aviv is an easy 4-5 hour drive away, so if you still want to check out the Holy Land on your Israel trip, having a car hire is especially useful.
