The Marupe District of Latvia lies a few miles southwest of the capital, Riga. In Marupe, highlights include the Viesturi Golf Club which is open to the public. It's less than a 20 minute drive to the beautiful city of Riga, home to a number of important gothic landmarks, significant examples of Art Nouvaeu architecture and fascinating attractions. Visit the medieval cathedral and the famous Blackheads House before strolling around the multitude of art galleries or taking a boat trip along the city canal. By night Riga comes alive with hip bars, chic restaurants and a strong arts and music scene. Driving out of the city towards the coast, it's a half hour stretch to Jurmala, an upscale beach resort where you'll find plenty of stunning white beaches. The beach town features a number of interesting Soviet era hotels and whilst the main beaches are busy in summer, it's easy to take the car and find somewhere more secluded.
