Sixt Alta is located in Storengveien, only 3km from the airport. Alta, also called the Northern light city, is Finnmark's biggest city. The city is located 240 km from Nordkapp, which is the most north point in Norway, which you can easily get to with a rental car from Sixt. Nordkapp is also known to be a part of the Norwegian Tv show 71 grader nord. There are a ton of different experiences and tourist attractions you have to do and see when you are in Alta, most of these reflect on the original culture in the area. Some of these are the Alta museum which contains petro glyphs, different festivals like Høstsprell, Alta Soul &Blues and Aronnesrocken. If you really want to experience the nature of Finnmark we recommend fishing in the Alta River, which is one of the world's best salmon rivers, or go on a snowmobile safari. If you rent a car from Sixt in Alta and drive over the plateau there is a huge chance you will get to see some reindeer. With a rental car you can get to the water park, the Northern lights cathedral which is shaped like the northern light, or Snorrisniva which contains an ice hotel that opens on January 14th.
