This was a very easy quick walk from T5 departures to the Sofitel Hotel and the SIXT desk - no need to go outside or catch shuttle bus. On arrival (arrived early) short wait and was seen to by Iona. I had booked a std SUV (VW-T Cross). There were none available, Iona offered to upgrade me to new BMW 3 series at an additional cost of more than my rental (just doing her job) which I politely declined stating that I was happy with the car I rented and automatic or manual would be fine. Was going to be issued with a Kia Ceed which was standard car, I said I was happy, but then Iona said she would upgrade me to the BMW free of charge. Was taken down to the garage in the lift, explained on return to ignore car rental return signs and just head for Sofitel Car Park. car was lovely. Return process was very easy, I filled the car with fuel in Slough, then headed into Sofitel car park on level 1, car was checked by Angel, very promptly, showed me no excess charges on his phone and then short walk to elevator, up to Sofitel then short walk and other elevator to T5 departures. I am not a frequent visitor to London, but my 3rd rental with SIXT at Heathrow and every experience has been very good - would not hesitate to use again. I always also take out independent excess insurance, would buy from rental co but independent is about 30% of rental cpy cost for excess insurance. The only thing I would add is the pick up garage is quite dark and not easy to get good photos of car to compare with on return - I always take photos at pick up and return in case any damage is claimed. I have assumed once check is complete and checkers phone has no damage ticked - the check is then completed. I have read some of the poor reviews here and definitely I only had +ve experience here.
