Punakea Palms Coconut Farm is a working farm that gives visitors a real hands-on experience. Guided tours show the process of collecting and processing coconuts, and you can even make and try your own coconut milk. It's a great place to pick up souvenirs too, with a shop full of coconut-based products. Plus, it's a quick and easy drive from the airport and central Maui.
Haleakala National Park
Haleakala National Park offers some of the best views in Maui. It's a slightly nail-biting drive to get to the top, but well worth it when you reach the peak of the mountain. It is particularly beautiful at sunrise and sunset, and there's a visitors centre with amenities and information.
Keawakapu Beach
Keawakapu Beach is a paradise for both surfers and sunbathers. It is surprisingly uncrowded and peaceful, with a large sandy beach that is ideal for resting in the shade with a good book. It has waves for surfing but is calm enough for swimming, snorkelling, and paddle boarding. You can even catch sight of turtles while taking a paddle!
