- *Reykjavik: *The capital city Reykjavik is a great place to start when exploring Iceland. Visit the National and Saga museum to learn about the country’s Viking history. Take a short drive to Grindavik and enjoy the Blue Lagoon spa, a striking example of Iceland’s volcanic activity.
- Lake Myvatn: Visit Lake Myvatn in the north of the island and enjoy the volcanic rock formations and the Myvatn Nature Baths where you can soak up the mineral-rich waters. A 20-minute drive away you’ll find Námafjall Mountain where you can enjoy a small hiking trail.

Good to know when renting in Iceland
We accept all major forms of credit card besides Diners Club. Unfortunately, in Iceland we cannot accept debit or prepaid cards.
If you decide during booking you want to pay on arrival this also allows you to cancel the booking for free any time up to the day of pick-up.
You can check in the booking tool whether it's possible, which it often is, to select a separate drop-off location.
In Iceland it is not possible to cross any borders in your SIXT car hire. However, it is allowed to take the car by ferry from the mainland to the smaller islands of Iceland.
In Iceland you can hire a SIXT car from as young as 20 years old, be aware though that this limits choice in cars and includes a surcharge.
Your UK licence will be accepted. Driving licences with non-Roman alphabet, e.g Japanese, Chinese, must be accompanied by an international driving permit.
