This small town in the north of the country is a fantastic place to see the real Norway. The main attraction in the town proper is the beautiful white Skanland Church, one of the largest wooden churches in north Norway. Those with car hire can discover more of this stunning area, including a drive to Målselvfossen Waterfall two hours north or the stunning Lofoten Islands to the west. Just 30 minutes drive to the north is the beautiful town of Harsatd whilst a three hour drive to the north is the city of Tromso where visitors can discover more about Sami culture at the University Museum.
