Harstad Evenes Airport

Officially known by the name Harstad/Narvik Airport, Evenes, this airport is a major transportation hub for the region of Nordland in northern Norway. The airport was initially planned in 1960 however it took thirteen years for the idea to become a reality. The airport opened in 1973 and has been serving the region ever since. Alongside the civilian airport is the Evenes Air Station; this is a vital link in the Norwegian military's defence infrastructure. The airport has services to Dubrovnik and Burgas (and many domestic routes). Had some initial hassles online booking a car, but the in-person experience at the airport counter was outstanding. Very friendly and helpful staff, got a great car, everything was technically sound and overall it was a pleasant experience. Wouldn't hesitate to rent from these guys again.

We are from the United States and due to a train derailment we rented a vehicle to drive from Narvik to Abisko. We had a great vehicle with studded tires and this made our travel on slightly icy and snowy roads quite easy. When we returned the vehicle it was snowing heavily and our previously planned public bus transit was cancelled. Nikolai was working there and was extremely helpful in booking us a taxi. That type of help was really above and beyond. Thanks! The hospitality in Norway has been amazing.
