La Laguna: Known as the Florence of the Canary Islands, visit this town at the north end of Tenerife if you're interested in the historic side of the island. Its old churches are so significant that it's now a World Heritage Site. It's also where one of the island's two main airports are, so it's a bustling tourist town, full of holiday spirit.
Granadilla de Abona: This town on the south coast of Tenerife is the home of windsurfing and other seaside activities. It also has a mountain with a spectacular panoramic view, the second-highest point on the island. It's also a wind-farming centre and the site of the Red Mountain volcano. The town is serviced by Tenerife's other airport, Reina Sofia Airport.
Costa Adeje: Famed for its beaches, colourful facades and nightlife, this is the upmarket entertainment town on Tenerife. The sea is warm and the whole place is all about relaxing in holiday luxury. Here you can go on boat trips or jet ski, play golf, or visit Aqualand for the dolphin shows. It's the island's playground region, with high-end boutiques looking out onto golden beaches.
